Who we are

patandfam is a PÁKÓ product. If you have a question about your data, write to hello@pako.health.

Using patandfam without an account

You can use every module without signing in. Your progress, notes and scores are kept in your own browser, on your device. We cannot see them.

If you create an account

We store your email address, and your name, year of study and medical school if you choose to give them.

We also store a copy of your progress in each module: which sections you have opened, your notes, your viva and question scores. This is so your progress follows you to any device.

If you send feedback

We store your rating and comment, the date, and how far you'd got in the module. If you're signed in, we link your reply to your account. If you later delete your account, the reply stays, without your name or email.

If you sign up to test patandfam

We store your name, email, WhatsApp number, age range, gender if you give it, school and whether it's public or private, year, device and the day and time that suit you. We use them only to arrange the research call. If you agree, we record the call for our team, and we delete the recording when the research is done. To have your details removed, write to hello@pako.health.

Why we keep it

To let you sign in, to save and restore your progress, and to email you when new modules are ready. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for advertising.

Where it is kept

Account data is stored with Supabase, our database provider. Sign-in emails are sent by our email provider. The site is hosted by Netlify, which counts visits without cookies.

The microphone

The spoken viva uses your browser's speech recognition to hear your answers. Your browser may send the audio to its own service, such as Google's for Chrome, to turn it into text.

To mark an answer, patandfam sends the text of what you said (never the audio) with the question to our marking service. The text isn't kept. patandfam does not record or keep your voice.

Your choices

You can sign out at any time. You can delete your account, and everything saved in it, from the account menu. Deleting your account does not clear what is saved in your browser; you can clear that in your browser's settings.
