Who we are

patandfam is a PÁKÓ product. By using patandfam you agree to these terms. If you have a question about them, write to hello@pako.health.

Who it's for

patandfam is for medical students across West Africa, and for the residents, doctors and educators who teach them. You don't need an account to learn.

It's for learning, not for treating patients

patandfam teaches pathology and pharmacology for exams. It isn't medical advice, and it doesn't replace clinical judgement, supervision or the current national guidelines.

Before you use anything you learn here to care for a patient, check it against the current guidelines and with your seniors.

Keeping it accurate

Our team of Nigerian physicians and educators writes each module from standard textbooks and national treatment guidelines, and reviews it before it goes live. Where guidelines differ between countries, we follow Nigeria's. Medicine changes, and mistakes can happen. If you find one, tell us at hello@pako.health and we'll fix it.

Free and paid modules

The tuberculosis module is free. Other modules need a paid plan. Before you pay, we'll show you the price and what it includes.

The full terms for payments and refunds will be added here before paid plans open.

Your account

An account is optional. If you make one, it's for you alone, so don't share it. Keep access to your email or Google account safe, because that's how you sign in.

You can delete your account, and everything saved in it, at any time from the account menu.

What you can't do

Don't copy, republish, sell or share patandfam's content outside the site, apart from the notes and Anki cards you export for your own study. Don't try to break into the site, overload it, or collect its content with automated tools.

We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

Who owns what

The text, drawings, videos, questions and viva recordings belong to PÁKÓ. Some photographs belong to others and are used under their licences; each one is credited where it appears.

Your notes and highlights are yours. We keep them only to save your progress and show it back to you, as our privacy policy explains.

Changes to the service

We'll keep improving patandfam, which means we may change, add or remove features. We'll try to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Our responsibility

patandfam is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for exam results, or for any loss that comes from using the site or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Nigerian law.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is important, we'll tell account holders by email. Using patandfam after a change means you accept the new terms.

The law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
